Petz - Re: "Paul, does Solano interface to AGP slot or have on-chip graphics?"

It has on-chip graphics for sure - but I heard TWO DIFFERENT stories about the existence - or non-existence - of an external AGP interface.
So at this point, I don't know if will support an external AGP card.

Follow-on chip sets will definitely support both external AGP and 133 MHz SDRAM.

Petz - Re: "does Solano interface to AGP slot or have on-chip graphics?"

I have finally cleared up this confusion !

Solano will incorporate the graphics functions of the i810 - with some very minor performance enhancements and Diver improvements- PLUS it will support EXTERNAL AGP cards - both AGP2X and AGP4X.

All a user needs to do to upgrade from using Solano/133 MHz SDRAM/Internal graphics is to power down his PC, Insert an appropriate AGP 2X or 4X card, and ReBOOT - and (I assume) install whatever drivers are required for the AGP graphics card.
