Paul - <The EZ2000 PC is the latest in a new class of computers to take advantage of smaller motherboards, or internal chassis, from top PC chip maker Intel Corp. and simpler connector technology known as Universal Serial Bus (USB). The new PCs take up roughly one third the desktop space of a normal sized PC and in Dell's case come in different colours, echoing a consumer friendly industrial design strategy pioneered by Apple Computer Inc. . One notable difference is that Compaq offers a floppy drive, while Dell eliminated the floppy drive as a standard feature in its Webpc. The new Compaq EZ2000 PCs feature Intel Celeron and Pentium III processors and come with panels to add additional memory memory, peripherals, or hard drives. "> I may have to get my Dad one of these. He's totally computer illiterate, but there is enough buzz about content that he's interested in on the Web that he's always asking me to pull stuff up for him. <Finally, Compaq said it was now making digital cameras available with virtually all of its consumer desktop PCs. A statement did not include prices and Compaq officials were not immediately available to provide details.> It would be cool if these were Intel brand cameras. I can see consumer photography applications possibally driving demand for consumer PC's. I base this on anecdotal observations with regard to several acquaintences of mine, who would not be classified as techies, and/or are nascent PC users, showing a lot of interest in the technology, including a friend who has indicated he's going to put his Holiday photos on the Kodak/Intel disc solution.
