Harry; sorry to hear about your computer problems, especially as it will restrict your posting :-( I have a number of extraneous things to handle myself & I don't have anything like your or Jim's grasp of the market to shore me up.

Sure did notice SPLI bucking the trend! Up 7 points. The 99K weakling put on a heap of muscle.

Support-wise the S&P seems to be going at quite a clip. Down thru same, tho' the Dow is not doing too badly either. Which led me to remember reading in Briefing something about Mr. Wien suggesting a 25%!!possible pullback. Do NOT know any details, or time-frame.

Client coming to lunch, so I have to tune out. Great timing.

Dorothy

Good morning Harrry..

Here are some of my thoughts of late. Watched Walmart launch its internet shopping site. the stock closed down 2 despite they're having 2X as much traffic as expected. It occured to me that with the 'marts' entering the field some of the novelty of the "internuts" will dissipate as the heavyweights begin to squeeze out costs and fantasy. One day the internet will be an extension of main street, or for true believers one could phrase it that main street will be an extension of the internet.. either way the valuations given to players in this space will be more pedestrian.

Jim

Note 4:30 in the morning on your post! I'm having a problem with Netscape on one computer, it freezes. I hope its a corrupted bookmarks file or something simple. I'll solve it one way or another, my sympathy for those who struggle with bits and bytes and don't resort to a sledge hammer.
