I find it interesting that Intel seems to be embracing the very model that Dan Niles indicated would be the death knell for Intel's business model.

No - except you should realize that Intel is staking out the LOW GROUND - in a preemptory fashion - so that it doesn't get blindsided by Kamakaze Go-For-Broke companies like NSM, Via/Cyrix and AMD .
