The buy and hold strategy is an old one and has been proven over time to work better than market timing. Or so I've read. I personally don't want to watch everything so closely. I am content to ride out the dips even if they last for a year or more. I have held CPQ for two years( the only stock I have any margin on. I use margin very conservatively and only as a small percentage 5 or 6% of my total investment.) So far it ahsn't proved to be an excellent investment, but I will continue to be patient. Good luck, jb
