I have AA options, trying to get a little diversity in the portfolio.

Nice article on page B4 of the WSJ today, titled: Alcoa's Outlook Is Bright Due to Cost Cuts, Shortages - Rising Prices, Foreign Moves Also Aid Bottom Line at Aluminum Producer.

First call expects a profit of 76 cents today vs 59 in last years quarter. In short, everything that the piece from the Business Week article almost two years ago has come to pass and even more.

"The expectation is for better things to come for Alcoa," said Mr. Van Leeuwen of Credit Suisse First Boston." Another analyst states that AA has up to a five year lead over most of its competitors. Also, the Kaiser Aluminum Corp. Alumina plant will not be back on line until fall of this year. It is responsible for 2% of worldwide production.

I have not seen the short ratio but understand that it is at or near a historic high for AA. I think we are about to put on a short squeeze that may push AA to the $85-$90 level by Friday. One can only assume that the shorts have no idea what they are doing. - IMHO
