HP Signs Agreement With RSA Security for Its E-Services Solutions
Far-Reaching Contract Gives HP Broad Access to RSA Security Encryption Technology
BEDFORD, Mass., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- RSA Security Inc. (Nasdaq: RSAS - news), the most trusted name in e-security, today announced that the company has signed a licensing agreement with Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HWP - news) that gives all HP divisions broad access to RSA Security's entire family of industry-leading data encryption technologies and products. The contract enables all HP divisions to streamline the process of bringing their e-commerce and other Internet-related products to market by making it faster and easier for them to license RSA Security's products.

The new master licensing agreement strengthens and expands the ties between the two companies, broadening HP's original license with RSA Security and speeding the development process for all HP e-commerce products. The agreement effectively provides HP with a single source for its core security technology across its product lines, helping to ensure interoperability among its platforms, ranging from PCs, to servers to back-end systems.

''Security is a prerequisite for e-services, and we are pleased to be working with RSA because they are the leaders in public-key cryptography,'' said Roberto Medrano, general manager of HP's Internet Security Division. ''The global availability of RSA Security's strong encryption fits well with HP's global presence, enabling us to build one version of our products to serve all our customers around the world.''

''We're extremely pleased by HP's renewed and expanded relationship with RSA,'' said Scott Schnell, senior vice president of marketing for RSA Security. ''RSA Security's core public-key technologies can help HP deliver secure solutions as the company pursues a variety of e-commerce opportunities.''
