Hi KLP, glad to hear there's serendipitous good news about the "merry mix-up" ticker, better than calling it something else that begins with the same letter izzint it? You present an interesting subject here, can only say what i've heard and know offhand about the bankruptcy picks ... I dunno how to buy delisteds, never have. Calling the Co. could get you some shares and/or info, or your broker could look into it - maybe there's a market somewhere. Iridium/Motorola had my attention for awhile for some reason, but the better performing nets got my money. (First, the bad news) An investor holding the bag too long can have a heckuva time proving non-liquidity and zero value to Uncle to claim a loss on it when something's been de-listed ... seems even though it's not salable anywhere it has an actual or theoretical (depends on what ultimately happens) value until everything's either liquidated or rescued - or as the case may be, tracked down... Sometimes it can be years til an investors loss can be proven legit if/when the stock or bond goes into oblivion if/when the stockholders finally get a penny on the dollar only after the debtholders and brokers and lawyers rake up the rest... Sometimes it can even wind up in another state's corporate registry in escheat files under a new name and ticker - would say it's an understatement that the DD to find it would be difficult in such a case, talking to the transfer agent on the certificate or calling/writing to It's Former Exchange to find out how to access the info at where their dead ticker files are kept... what a pain. The last transfer agent would have info where it's gone one could hope. But when they come back from Down Under it could be real good ... personally i feel (shudder, shiver me timbers) it'd sure be awful to see money disappear down a sinkhole into limbo like that for however long it might take- it'd magnify the risk/reward ratio for sure. BuckBuckBwaaaack chicken me - more than some, less than others. My strategy is investing in growth.coms doing well in a moving-up range & perhaps profiting less thereby ... but that's just my own conservative side which i DO try to hang onto around the Internet Stocks though the HighOdds yearlings are tempting! (Now The Good News) When Risk Magnifies Reward It Could Be Big ... With confidence in someone i knew of locally who could be The Man to turn things around like you say ... i'd probly be tempted to give it a try too. Ya gotta hunch ya do DD it looks good ya Go For It! More Power 2U !! 909s, Joan
