Jill, and others, this is a difficult day, but let me say that my strategy of hedging Qcom leap calls with Feb puts is really working out on a day like yesterday and today. Today my puts are way up, offsetting 2/3 of my leap losses. When I sense the bottom is here, I can sell my puts and use the money to buy more leaps. I am posting this not to display my brilliance, because I am a newbie at this, and even a blind pig runs across an acorn every now and then, but just as a case in point for how well this strategy works in a case like this. Yes, I gritted my teeth when I paid those put premiums, being bullish on the stock, but I just felt like a severe correction was coming, like last April when I watched my AOL money wither away unhedged.
