I blew out INSP at the open, so I had cash to play with. From cramer, I love the man, I don't care what anyone says, he is ok by me.

Scrambling jets furiously here. Targets of opportunity: the IBM (IBM:NYSE)upgrade at BankAmerica; the Goldman Sachs (GS:NYSE) downgrade at J.P. Morgan; the "bad" Amazon (AMZN:Nasdaq) number; the BMC Software (BMCS:Nasdaq) blow-up; the priceline.com (PCLN:Nasdaq) positive; the cable downgrade at Morgan Stanley; and the Blodget "lukewarm" nonendorsement of the Net that was anticipated and presented when he was on our TV show. Why doesn't he downgrade already? Very unnerving -- he seems to want it both ways. Who can blame him?

Do we have enough ammo? Do we have enough daylight? Do we have enough moxie? Do we have enough pilots? Are we too soft coming off a big year? Are we ready?

Obviously, today is a fulcrum day. The majority of the research departments have bullish calls, but this BMC Software blow-up (mainframe software company, make a note to be careful IBM) causes us to keep an eye on the rearview mirror.

OK, gotta go. Gotta get the jets off the tarmac. Bears at 9 o'clock, 10 o'clock! >>
