Goutama - RE: "For example, the Presario 1200-XL111 includes a 13.3 TFT XGA display, 500 MHz AMD-K6 processor"

That's two Compaq announcements before AMD's version!

That is a K6-2, not a K6-2+ as we may have thought.

athome.compaq.com

Compaq's new AMD notebook (designated with the extremely long model name) use four 475MHz K6-2s and one 500MHz K6-2.

That's exactly what The Register said - "Sources close to Compaq plans have revealed that the firm is set to roll out five laptops using the AMD K6-II microprocessor in the near future."

But as we guessed, the 256KB L2 cache they said for the K6-2 500 machine was wrong.

<For on-the-go performance, Compaq introduces three new Presario notebooks -- the 1200-XL106, 1200-XL110 and 1200-XL111. These new Presario 1200 Series models offer plenty of computing power at an incredible value. For example, the Presario 1200-XL111 includes a 13.3 TFT XGA display, 500 MHz AMD-K6 processor, 6X DVD-ROM with Dolby© Digital Certified Sound so consumers can watch movies anywhere.>

That is a sweet laptop! I also like aesthetics of Compaq laptops.
