I saw these guys at one of the trade shows, and they were rather intriguing. It will be interesting to see if their business model stands the "test of time" against the prowess of the RBOC, CLEC and cable companies (mostly marketing prowess, at this time).

Thanks, James. At first I thought that substance within the release that you referenced was similar to that which I was suggesting, but as I read through their descriptions on their web site I soon realized that it was more of the same, only this time pushing SONET and GR-303 closer to the home through the use of Bellcore-ITU sanctioned Full Service Area Network (FSAN) / PON technologies, and not really taking the matter to a simpler and broader(-band) level.

Instead, they perpetuate the complexities of the legacy telco framework, while purporting to be able to do it less expensively (which I haven't any opinion on, since the relative pyhrricity of their achievement obviates the significance of such gains, in my opinion, if we're truly looking to leverage the hidden potentials within fiber).

Their absolute resemblance to the telco framework should come as no surprise if you take a look at the backgrounds of their senior staff. You might also want to look their release from yesterday with ANDA, 1/4/00:

What they are doing here is taking the protocols from their motherland and distributing it over glass instead of copper/coax. It might as well be coax, IMO.
