HOUSTON " Boy - I'll say that is GOOD NEWS ! Thanks for the excellent post ! Compaq has a lot of "prestige" to lose if ITanum is a success and their Alpha continues to founder in the market place. Thus, a statement such as "Compaq's success establishes it as the reference platform of choice for IA-64 based solutions " seems like a MAJOR ENDORSEMENT of ITanium...very possibly indicating that Compaq's testing has established the fact that ITanium systems will indeed be excellent performers in the high end Server and Workstation market segments.
