Watson blamed the shortfall on a failure of expected sales and long-term contracts to materialize towards the end of the quarter, and implied that this was due to Y2K issues. He was non-committal about the outlook for the first quarter, although generally bullish for the future:

I think you suggested that the shortfall was due to pricing pressures from CA and integration issues with the BOOL acquisition. What data do you have to support this view?

I am seriously thinking about re-entering BMCS. The stock looks very attractive at these levels.
