Tahoe Pacific Changes Name in Anticipation of Acquisition

DALLAS, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Tahoe Pacific Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: THOE) today signed a binding letter of intent to acquire certain assets of Ameri-First Financial Corporation, a Texas broker dealer involved in diversified
financial services and investment banking. These assets will include, but are not limited to, real estate with a current value in
excess of $2 Million, short-term note receivables with a current value in excess of $1 Million, and a wholly owned interest in
Ameri-First Securities Corporation, a member NASD and SIPC firm with its corporate offices located in Dallas, Texas. In
anticipation of this acquisition, Tahoe Pacific Corporation has changed its name to the Ameri-First Financial Group, Inc. and
has changed its symbol to (AMFR). The symbol change has been approved and should begin trading under the new symbol
on January 6, 2000.
