<Here's a great quote from zdnet. efering to Intel catching up with AMD. "Intel, in order to keep up with the market, has been introducing new Celeron chips at least once per quarter, starting in the last half of 1999. Early in the year, it introduced chips even more quickly in an attempt to catch up with AMD in market share.">

My favorite part is:

"The chip will be available immediately in PCs from manufacturers including Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE: CPQ) and IBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM)."

Now, to be sure I would like the list to include OEMS other than IBM/CPQ, but I will wait and see what happens.
