I get "The Standard" magazine which over the last year has been getting thicker and thicker with ads of Internet companies and IPO's about to come out. Over the last year I have seen one ATHM ad in there. Why isn't this great management using their own vehicles for
generating some nice print ads a la CMGI.

The is no sense of pissing one's money away on a huge advertising campaign when the 2 way systems upgrades aren't complete and the product hasn't gotten into a full scale rollout. Why advertise in a town one can't deliver in? Brand recognition will come when they deliver ubiquitous successful product.

We are all early. As somebody who owned Qualcom in 1993, Ascend in 96, AOL before it bloomed [and I sold them all too early] this is deja vu all over again. This time I'm not selling out. ATHM has a compelling business plan and a reasonable 2 year window with a good chance of implementation. Regardless of the regulatory problems, squabbles with T etc. the ultimate deciding factor will be market penetration and subscriber growth based upon a superior HFC technology and the high costs/barrier of entry associated with installing competative systems. In the long run they simply need to execute and become profitable...perhaps this is done in spite of management. The market will/has become sick of internet plays without earnings and as the industry matures this will increase. Making money based upon earnings growth, subscribers growth and ad revenue is all that matters in the long run to jack the stock price up. Capital will seek the best return on investment.

I agree. Maybe they can surprise us though. I'm grasping for straws but that's all I got left.
