RE:"I know of who maintained till the end that there will be some Y2K cancellations in December.

I don't buy the Y2K excuse as much as the lack of supply excuse.
IBM played the Y2K card excuse a couple months ago and it turned out to be an IBM problem or customers buying from others problem, more than a Y2K problem.
I'll bet CPQ won't play the Y2K excuse...nor will Best Buy.
Also, as I reported here...I think the lack of sub-$1000 offerings really hurt GTW this Q. They only had one 1000 dollar 'puter in their stores. Probably couldn't get enough chips for computers in the $1000 range.

Man, Niles strikes again! He was the only analyst that I know of who maintained till the end that there will be some Y2K cancellations in December.

Chuck, He is not the only one. Another analyst downgraded GTW due to lowered Q4 expectations. I think he was from Bear Sterns.
