Cirruslvr Re <<Intel's response - "Ramp is doing very well. Demand is strong.">>

LOL, good one.

This is really a good news for AMD, but I have a feeling it will be down tomorrow. I hope not.

Cringe - Re: "Gateway just announced an earnings and revenue shortfall due to a lack of chip supply and Y2k (yeah right) in Q4"

Let's see if I understand this.

Gateway had Y2K problems - so they DIDN'T HAVE enough orders - but they couldn't get enough chips from Intel to fill the orders that they DIDN'T receive - right ?

C,
RE:" Too bad Gateway dropped AMD just in time for Q4...."

Clearly Gateway should not have dropped the Chalupa (AMD K6s)...
jajajaja
I think I'm going to up my CPQ holdings.

Cirrus - <Too bad Gateway dropped AMD just in time for Q4....>

The above observation is a strange aspect to this story, since as you point out, the AMD products GTW was offering (K6II's) seem to fit the segment GTW says is the problem.

The whole GTW picture (AMD or no AMD) is very strange.
