Yes, GTW is an "Intel only" shop for the most part. Rumors of Gateway using Athlon CPUs surfaced late Nov/early Dec. Gateway even had some web pages showing Athlon CPU's and motherboards (tech support pages). Gateway then began having Intel supply problems, (both the big profit high-end PIII's and the "sweet-spot" high-end Celerons). Then the AMD Athlon tech support pages disappeared late December, and the rumored announcement of availability of AMD Athlon systems never surfaced.
I think they said that they wouldn't let someone else's "actions" hurt their performance, and not someone else's "problems," didn't they?
