I would have no problem with it if I thought it was primarily the result of foreign demand for US assets with "savings" while the international system was in balance.

Unfortunately, I think it is the result of a combination of problems overseas related to their own excesses, our own excessive credit expansion, and geopolitical forces at work that keep foreign central banks buying our paper no matter how large the our own excesses.
