djia Who's behind the tech sell-off?
I think it is partially portfolio balancing. I am trustee for a couple of trusts. A bank is one of the cotrustees. They sold qcom at 200 against my advice to balance. Called again today want to sell some more. Even after both sales a very modest investment a couple of years ago is over 25% of the stock portfolio of these trusts. Multiple this by hundreds of accounts and mutual funds and you have found lots of sellers. Also, not everyone is comfortable being overweighted in one stock so you also have individuals selling as well.
