rude -- I understand DELL was also pulling back on RAM. Machines with 64 or 128 cut in half as soon as advertising could get out. CPQ had it in stock when the EarthQuakes hit and MUEI never has a problem with that. CPQ may come out unscathed. I am certain CPQ did everything possible to give MC a good qtr... taking care of the new guy,,

Safe assumptions, except I think DELL's shortage was not with
CPU but RAM. Remember a story about DELL was skimping on RAM to
make the sell.
