Smartpipes is based on a B2B model and deals with supply chain and distribution management. Clarke teamed up with Tim Jermoluk (CEO of Excite@Home) for Smartpipes and it is run by a guy called Ray Bell (ex Oracle and ex Cisco). Smartpipes has a bunch of ex UUNET executives and is going to be HOT if this B2B mania lasts...Incidently the codename for Smartpipes is "The Manhattan Project" :-) and it is probably better known by its code name.
