I think the only pressure that will bring Dell around is economic pressure. Only if they perceive that not using AMD chips is going to hurt them in the pocketbook, will they begin using AMD CPUs. Even if they perceive this, they may not do it until it actually does hurt them 1st (ala Gateway).

Yes, but one has to wonder if this isn't the time? The continuing Rambus fiasco must have hurt, and with the recent insider selling....we may not have long to wait to find out.

I agree, however, that Dell remains an unlikely partner, even in the face of GTW's warning. How much was the value of the shortfall anyway? 20M?

It would not surprise me if Dell warns.....remember their quarter doesn't end til the end of this month.

Dell has waited too long and they are probably so far behind on Athlon allocations that at this point there is little harm in waiting until Dresden comes online. I expect Dell to get on board *after* Dresden goes to production.
