Solution From Equis For Y2K Conversion Problem

Note: Very quick responses from Worden and Equis

Thank you for letting us know about the problem you are experiencing with
TC2000 data. We understand that you must be frustrated. TC2000 created
their own solution to write to your MetaStock data files, possibly by
reverse engineering the file format or writing to an old version of the
MetaStock format. As you have discovered, this solution does not work past
12/31/1999.

Fortunately you have several options that will allow you to continue using
MetaStock:

1. Many data vendors allow you to export their data to an ASCII, Excel, or
Lotus file. The DownLoader software, which comes with MetaStock, allows you
to convert these exported files to a 100% compatible MetaStock file format.
See The DownLoader User's Manual or go to
<http://www.equis.com/customer/support/faqs/msg00017.html> for detailed
instructions on converting these files to MetaStock If you have questions
about which ASCII formats The DownLoader can convert see The DownLoader's
User's Manual or go to
<http://www.equis.com/customer/support/faqs/msg00007.html> for detailed
instructions on compatible ASCII formats.

2. TC2000 users can go to
<http://www.equis.com/customer/support/faqs/dlg00030.html> and receive
step-by-step instructions for converting to the 100% compatible MetaStock
file format. Instructions are also available in The DownLoader User's
Manual.

3. The DownLoader, available from Equis International, directly supports
three data vendors that are 100% compatible with MetaStock, including
Reuters DataLink (<http://reutersdatalink.com>), Dial/Data
(<http://ddata.com>), and Telescan (<http://www.telescan.com>). Each of
these services provide quality, competitively-priced data.

4. You can receive 3 months of free service to Reuters DataLink. You can
use the 3 months as a temporary solution for your data downloading needs.
Or, if after the 3 months you wish to remain a subscriber with Reuters
DataLink, simply do nothing and your account will remain active. To
sign-up, go to <http://www.reutersdatalink.com>. To receive your 3 free
months of service, enter the code "3FREE" into the Code field of the signup
form. Free downloading software and an historical data CD is included.

If you have any other questions regarding this issue, please don't hesitate
to email us at support@equis.com <mailto:support@equis.com> or call us at
1-801-265-9998. We will do everything in our capacity to ensure you remain
a loyal MetaStock user.

Thank you.
