Ouch!

I've done that upgrade. Normally they sell an "upgrade" CD instead of having to reinstall the whole Magilla. So, if he has a full hard drive backup, reinstall that and then get the upgrade CD.

If not, and you're still puzzled, I could scrounge around and get you a website that would be helpful. It'll take a little time.

If he did as you say then I'd guess..

1. If he formatted the hard drive, then everything on it was erased. Maybe there are no drivers to recognize the CD.

2. Why didn't he just upgrade instead of trying to replace the OS? WIN95?? Why not WIN 98??

Does he have the floppy startup disk that came with the Win95 CD? He has to start it from there.
