William,Gateway is a box maker. What do you think a box maker and JDSU or QCOM have in common other than being on the naz and labeled techs?
It's like saying caviar is going to drop because potatoes are down.

I was getting at preference for sectors within tech. If a boxmaker warns, one may not be tempted to buy Dell, IBM etc. I am refering specifically to technology funds that may wish instead to put funds to work in other sectors that are unlikely to disappoint on the earnings front. I don't recall any of JDSU's competitors disappointing on earnings last quarter. Therefore, managers may be tempted to put in fractionally more money in the fibre optics sector or chips etc. I am just talking about investment tendencies with earnings around the corner.
