Can you qualify that? Demand of what exceeds supply of what? Be specific.
I saw Gateway and HP run out of P-III-450s before December. Intel stop making them. P-III-500s were apparently scarce as well.
That mean't GTW couldn't sell a PC in the 1000-1500 range except a Celeron 400 for $999 which was not competitive with most anything offered at a retail chain with a $400 ISP rebate on top of that.

Pricewatch vendors still have the PII 450 and PIII 500. And prices are going down on those processors. I doubt these vendors would be dropping prices if they weren't getting a new supply with lower prices.
