The First time the term Elect appears in scripture it is about Jesus and well it should because without Him none of us would be chosen. Isaiah 45:4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me. Next it is speaking of Israel the Nation as being the "elect" ( not those who are Elect Individuals ) Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Finally that last one is about "elect" individuals while the "elect nation" is destroyed in Judgement. The following verses deal with Elect Individuals the chosen ones.
