Ned, Which company are you talking about? Which acquisition. I also sense we will hear about one very soon based upon the article of yesterday.
I have noticed a change in the managements' response to questions about possible acquisitions. They seem more keen on acquiring now than in the not so distant past. Who can blame them with a rising stock price for currency? Maybe they are interesting in taking over some of their own suppliers. As the largest optical components maker by a mile, they may be able to pressure their own suppliers into being acquired. They were successfull in taking over one such company in the U.K. recently. That is the pattern i would expect, especially if they keep that overwhelming market share intact---Otherwise if they don't , the acquiring suppliers strategy may not be the best in most cases.
I am just so bullish in part due to this ability of the company to effectively get the missing pieces to their puzzle while the competition stood still.
What a company---so much like Cisco of the past.
