wow! Corporate honesty in Japan:

TOKYO, Jan 6 (Reuters) - Sony Corp's outspoken president made a rare warning on Thursday that the Japanese electronics giant's shares were overvalued and like a ``bubble.'

Sony President Nobuyuki Idei told Reuters in an interview that 20,000 yen ($192) was an appropriate price for his company's stock given its current earnings levels.

Anything above that would be ``a bubble,' he added. On Thursday, Sony was trading around 25,700 yen.

``When our earnings levels are considered, the appropriate price would be about 20,000 yen. Above that would be a bubble,' he said when asked what would be an appropriate share price for Sony, viewed here as one of the bluest of Japan's bluechips.

It was the first such warning from a head of a top Japanese infotech firm representing so-called ``New Japan' stocks which have pulled Tokyo's market higher in recent months.

Other such companies include Internet investor Softbank Corp and electronics group Fujitsu Ltd .

Too bad more corporate chieftains don't get that religion. "Jeff Bezos says AMZN really a internet black hole; fair value is $10" <G>
