Hi SteveC:

It was the overpowering prospect of an imminent AMD "paradigm shift" that caused me to change status from lurker to SI member. Post #80625 on Nov. 21 was my attempt at articulating this strongly felt AMD "paradigm shift". Posts since have been basically other ways of stating the points raised in #80625.

TXN has been a favourite of mine (and Bilow's) through the years (I've been fortunate enough to win on TXN call options) and we have both mentioned that we see very similar fundamental and technical patterns currently evolving with AMD that we saw evolving with TXN before it gained broad market acceptance! For me it is the symmetry of the fundamentals and technical patterns of AMD that remind me so much of those in place on TXN just before it exploded onto the big stage. Rarely in my experience have I seen the technicals and fundamentals line up as well as they do on AMD. In fact TXN was the only other equity in over 20 years that impressed me with such tremendous upside potential as evidenced simultaneously by both technicals and fundamentals.

With respect to 99Q4 earnings, my guess of $0.32 obviously implies that my analysis indicates that market consensus of negative $0.07 is out of line! No matter what 99Q4 eps turns out to be, today's announcements augur very very well for a prosperous AMD Y2000. Exciting times lie just around the corner for AMD, methinks!
