Most years (excluding 4 flat years 70, 78, 84 & 94) have followed suit - 43 out of 48 times for a 90% batting average. There were no errors in odd years when the nw congress convened.

Of the 21 January losers (or miniscule gainers) only one year (1982) followed a Jan loss.

Greatest concentration of turndowns since 1949 ocured in the months first six trading days

Low priced stocks beat quality in early part of the year
