Well, that is an interesting discussion. My own personal opinion is that tyrants are created by parents who are abusive in some way, and that religious beliefs do not really enter into the equation. I think traumatized children either become self-destructive in major or minor ways, or strike out at others because they feel powerless.

When there is a lot of interaction between Ask God and Feelings, there are usually also huge fights over here. Sometimes I cannot resist going over there, but do try and usually restrain myself.

You know this plays neatly into my theory (well it isn't just mine) that God is merely a surrogate parental figure (usually father, male) AND if you hated your father it might somehow short circuit the need to believe in the great big father figure in the sky.
