DSL is starting to take off in this country, is expected to catch and then leave cable modems in the dust in a couple of years or so, from what I'm reading.

Well, USeless Worst (aka The Telephone Morons) still says that my line "does not qualify" for a DSL connection even though my general area has DSL available. I'd settle for a cable modem at this time. Cox (aka The Cable Morons) has just began to install updated equipment in my neighborhood so maybe it's not just a dream. All their literature says they'll have "future support" for all the goodies they list.

I now have a cable box in my front yard that's the size of a Chucky Porta-John instead of a Barbie Porta-John.
