The most damage to the viral vectors are these paragraphs from the above linked report:

<<At the RAC meeting, researchers reviewed in great detail the known general side-effects of adenoviral vectors, as well as those seen to date in trials conducted for a range of diseases by Schering-Plough, Onyx,RPR Gencell/Introgen, Genzyme, and GenVec. (The FDA is currently reviewing all trials using adenoviral vectors.) Adverse effects of adenoviral vectors discussed include liver inflammation and general systemic inflammation, apoptosis, cardiac irregularities, hypotension, high fevers, disorientation, increased levels of certain cytokines, thrombocytopenia, DIC (disseminated intravascular coagulopathy, a bleeding disorder), and pulmonary complications.

and later in the article this:

Because there was so much vector found in Gelsinger's body, it is possible that it did replicate and that it reverted from an allegedly safe third-generation version to what was essentially a first-generation adenoviral vector--E1 deleted, known to be replication-competent. Verma says he was "shocked" that the vector was found in distant sites of the body, but thought that rather than replicating, the sheer size of the dose was responsible for the spread of the vector found during autopsy. >>

with side-effects like this no one should be treated with these vectors!
