You are correct but boxmakers take on different risk...

They operate on low margins and there is a lot more competition because the costs of entering the boxmaker field is very low compared to making chips.

I don't feel sorry for Gateway. They got what they deserved.

I was thinking the same thing when I read the comments from the GTW CFO. Where would GTW be today without Intel's innovations?

Tony,

To me an interesting contrast this morning.

- ATHM looks like it will trade up about 5%, because they announced that they are going to provide FREE internet access for phone lines. The President said "The business model in the free ISP space is definatly tough".

- Intel looks like it will trade down because the demand for it's chips, which average 54% GM, exceeds supply.

Common sense is not a priority on Wall Street these days.
