I read once in a essay by Kenneth Galbraith that the head of a famous brokerage (schwab?) went to a psychiatrist because he was seriously concered that he must be insane for thinking stocks were utterly overvalued, when all of his friends and business associates were predicting the market would go up forever. That visit took place in early 1929.
