I see two things that happen in the life of those who are truly being saved by God ( not only two things )1. Salvation: Salvation is a gift that we do nothing to deserve.. not even "accepting Jesus as Lord" We receive the Gift of Faith by the power of the Holy Ghost! We believe but that belief is different than the way the devil and false converts believe. It in not just mental accent.. it is not positive thinking in the flesh.. it is a Spiritual Gift NOT OF OURSELVES Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves : it is the gift of God: ======= The "saving faith" is not of OURSELVES ======= The work of Salvation for those who will appear in heaven was finished for both Old Testament and New Testament believers when Jesus said IT IS FINISHED on the CROSS ! It is what preachers for 2000 years have referred to as .... === " The finished work of Christ " === We add nothing to that work ever.... nor can any man not even ourselves ever take it away! John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and my Father are one. 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. ======= THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH ! ======= ............Sworn Testimony of Jesus Christ Himself!2. Sanctification: This is where we "accept" Jesus and all of God's attributes.. Some of which we may hate at first. His Election, Wrath, Eternal Damnation..things that we in the flesh may hate. John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 2 Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: Sanctification is a never ending work of Christ... never Finished while the believer lives in this corruptible body. It is completed when we shall see Him. If a believer sins God 'PUNISHES HIM' or 'CONVICTS HIM' but God will bring his chosen back to a place of repentance. 1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Those who do not experience "chastisement" and "Sanctification" are not true converts but false.
