BEZOS is attempting to create a huge retail business over the course of several years. It is
silly and unrealistic to expect it to be profitable in a year or two. Can you name another
company that has done so?

Excuse the correction but it has already been five years.

A HUGE LAND-GRAB. He who gets the loyal customer base will win the game -- and AMZN has
taken this prize by a huge margin. It's not over yet...

There is no such thing as a loyal customer base in retail. Ask Kmart, Sears, Penneys and the W.T. Grant company. You better skip the latter they have been gone a long time now.

So which is it? The internet is either the greatest competitive force ever to hit this planet, or else it's a land grab that will shortly be over, where nobody else will ever be able to compete.

Are you suggesting once AMZN gets enough users, they will be able to jack their prices up high enough to make money? That they will be immune to competition from all the other thousands of retailers that appear on the web?
