SOROS, If the IPO market dies, CMGI will be hurt, but not because of earnings. It will be caught in a general downdraft of changing opinions of I-net stocks. It could make for some nice buying opportunities. JMHO

What IPO market are you talking about. The one where any co. with a dotcom does 300% on day one, or the one where quality companies with sound business plans, significant partners and good management triples? The former died a while back. The latter will never die. It may have better days and worse days, but that's how commerce works.

One of the points of cmgi is to nurture the right companies, not just any company. If every IPO out of cmgi isn't a gand slam, does that mean cmgi is history. Not likely.

In general, that can be a factor. However, the market is always interested in new companies with an edge in the marketplace. An IPO from CMGI from the starting gate has the CMGI network available as customers, not to mention the experience and lessons learned from others in the network that have seen it before. I would think that CMGI will not start putting up junk to be an IPO. Thus overall, I am not overly concerned about an IPO dying with respect to CMGI sponsored products.
