I agree. I do not like writing options in fast moving market unless I am going to buy them back at profit. I like bull put spreads.

As for books, I have read both McMillan's books. They are excellent. However options trading can be quite dangerous without knowledge of technical analysis. One must also read TA books, the bible is Edwards and Magee. I also highly recommend Alex Elder's book, "Trading for Living"
People may not like him, but Wade Cook's books are excellent for basics on options trading.
These books are a must for any trader's library. I have read them several times, among others.
