CES 2000

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2000--e.Digital Corp.
(OTCBB:EDIG) announced today that its portable Internet music player
design, using IBM's 340 MB Microdrive(TM), will debut today in the IBM
Technology Suite inside the Las Vegas Convention Center and will
remain on display through Saturday during this week's International
Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
The design is capable of holding over five and a half hours of
compressed, high-quality music downloaded from the Internet or a
user's personal CD collection.
Fred Falk, president and chief executive officer of e.Digital,
said, "The enormous capacity and small, standard form factor of IBM's
Microdrive immediately attracted our attention, not only for music
applications, but also for future video applications in our portable
player designs. We are dedicated to integrating the latest standards
and technologies into product designs for our OEM customers and we are
happy to demonstrate the huge potential of the Internet music market
using the Microdrive in this design."
Michael Kuptz, IBM Microdrive Products business line manager,
added, "IBM's Microdrive, a tiny, removable, 340 MB hard drive the
size of a matchbook, is suitable for use in all sorts of portable
devices. e.Digital is one of the first companies to seize the
opportunity to incorporate the Microdrive into a portable device where
smaller size, greater capacity, and quick access to data are of
benefit to the end user."
For a press meeting about IBM Microdrive, please leave a message
for Wendy Sullivan, IBM Corp., at 408/256-6751. Television crews are
welcome.
e.Digital's portable multi-codec Internet music player design is
available for licensing by consumer electronics manufacturers and
other OEM partners. The flexible design can be adapted to customer
specifications and includes options for music codecs, removable
memory, and security features. The design is SDMI compatible.
