ADI Offers the Only Fully Compliant T1.413, G.992.1 and G.992.2 Chipset With Fast Retrain Capability.

CES2000-LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI)
announced today that its ADSL chipsets have achieved interoperability with
more ADSL systems than any other chipset available on the market. Already the
world's leading ADSL chipset vendor with more than one million chipsets sold
to the open market to date, and whose customers represent 60% market share(1),
ADI offers customer premise equipment (CPE) manufacturers the widest, field-
proven interoperable chipset available in G.lite, G.dmt and T1.413 modes.
Evidence of ADI's leadership in interoperability can be found at the ADSL
Forum's Interoperability Showcase at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES2000)
in Las Vegas. Analog Devices has achieved interoperability with all of the 24
ADSL vendors that have participated in the recent interoperability tests at
the University of New Hampshire. In a live show demonstration, an ADI-enabled
CPE modem will show its widespread interoperability with selected
participating ADSL vendors including: Alcatel, Ericsson, Newbridge Networks,
Nortel, Orckit and PairGain, providing ADI's customers access to its large
central office (CO) installed base. In addition, Analog Devices' ADSL
solutions are the only ones fully compliant with T1.413, G.992.1 and G.992.2,
with fast retrain capability.
"As the first company to develop an ADSL chipset and the first-ever to
achieve interoperability of any kind, Analog Devices continues to lead the
market in interoperability and supply the most robust and complete end-to-end
ADSL solutions," said Russ Johnsen, vice president and general manager,
Communications Products Division, Analog Devices. "We have worked hard to
support our many customers as well as service providers, thereby ensuring that
our chipsets fully comply to all standards and ADSL specifications. Due to
this commitment, as well as our technical expertise, we are the only solutions
provider able to deliver the only fully compliant chipset for all ADSL
standards with fast retrain capability as well as unparalleled
interoperability that is being demonstrated at the CES2000 show, but more
importantly, in the field."
Analog Devices has achieved full compliance to ADSL specifications, the
widest range of interoperability and fast retrain capability without
compromising the high degree of robustness and performance that have made
ADI's ADSL chipsets the world's market leader. Recognized as a de facto
standard by premier manufacturers and operators around the world, Analog
Devices' ADSL chipsets have been installed by the majority of the world's
carriers and also have wide usage in the CPE market.
