Welcome to the thread W.M. The question you pose has baffled me and others on this thread for quite some time. IMG has been more or less profitable since 1989 with the exception of some one-time writeoffs in the last year or two. IMG's operations have been profitable since the late '80's. Until last year, IMG's management left a lot to be desired. They drifted into a number of different product areas which produced dismal results and were a major drag on earnings. Communication was also very poor in the past as well. In 1993 they announced that they had discovered a great substitute for freon and the stock rocketed up. However, they dropped the ball on marketing again and the stock eventually sank to the lows of recent years. Of all the companies involved with superconductivity, IMG is the strongest financially and is the only one not burning cash. I think Glenn Epstein and his new management team is making a real difference and is getting the company focused on maximizing shareholder value. Your informative table indicates that among superconductivity companies, IMG is the screaming bargain. The fundamentals are there. If they can follow through on the product areas they are working in, I think their days as a laggard will be over.
