I understand what you mean and look at the internet stocks same way.
You will find *some* inuts making money.

But the whole lot of others flying for some time but won't make it and hence be wiped off.

The e*tailers are a good example, they are leading the current crisis by 1 month. (AMZN nonperforming but effectively all other e*tailers in the doldrums, check out Etys, eggs, vusa, CDNW, whatever you wish).

Airlines - SWA

Michael: You are absolutely right. There is usually a visibly successful example in every distressed industry. Case in point: Southwest Airlines (SWA), one of the best managed companies in the world, IMO, a rather remarkable statement to make about any company, and even more so about an airline!

Southwest was the only major carrier in 1990, 1991, and 1992 to make both net and operating profits.
