Excellent point, and I don't know how to reconcile the two sets of facts, which I think are both well established. Perhaps the males who are successfully cuckolded are somehow less sensitive to the fact? I recall some research done in England in some district where people live in council flats, and some ridiculously high percentage of babies, like 1/3, are not the child of the husband. The researchers limited it to second children of the marriage, on the theory that if the couple "had" to get married, the child might be less likely to be the husband's.
