Winstar Achieves 1999 Year-end Total of 8,000Building Access Rights

January 7, 2000 06:00 AM
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 2000--

Company Adds 1,500 Buildings in Fourth Quarter

WINSTAR COMMUNICATIONS, INC. WCII today announced that it now has access rights totaling more than 8,000 commercial office buildings.

The company added more than 4,000 buildings during 1999, and 1,500 buildings in the fourth quarter. The 8,000 total includes buildings located in major domestic and international markets.

In 1999, Winstar signed agreements with many leading property owners, including Tishman-Speyer Properties, Mack-Cali Realty Corporation, Boston Properties, Crescent Real Estate Equities Company, Parkway Properties, Highwoods Properties and Glenborough Realty.

"By reaching our year-end goal of 8,000 building access rights, we will be able to offer our advanced, high-speed communications services to more buildings and customers than any other broadband or alternative provider," said Nathan Kantor, Winstar president and chief operating officer. "We expect to continue to attract large client portfolios, both domestically and abroad, and enhance the value of property owners' buildings. This, in turn, will enable us to expand our network and offer more services on-net."

Winstar works with commercial building owners and managers to provide tenants with a wide range of e-business solutions - including data, voice, videoconferencing, Web-hosting and applications services - through its national broadband network.
