When INTC preannounced (quarters ago), they'd be in there after 2 days or so buying $1 B of stock so at least they "made money" on their bad news. I don't think LU has that option at $45+.

In the weeks leading to the Nov 30 announcement that Dell would offer RIMM's BlackBerry(TM) wireless email solution, RIMM popped and there was an air of excitement about the wireless arena. Since RIMM has tailed off, does this imply that Dell is off to a slow start in this area? As Dell gets away from its controlled production model the risks of disappointments in delivery time (from too little inventory), ROIC (from too much), or just missed top line numbers, it seems to me, go up.

But to think of CSCO at 10 or Dell at 5, you would need to believe that we'd have a return to the late 1974 era. Sure, a downturn in earnings, in a high interest rate environment, in a competitive business with 18 month or shorter product cycles, in an era heading toward infinite bandwidth at approaching-zero cost, I can imagine a 10 times P/E.

But in the real world, I too think we bottom tomorrow after 10:30 (and before 1:30). The change of sentiment in a few days is warranted if long-term bond yields (and their effect on P/E ratios) are all that count. But in the long run, long-term interest rates in this country have been rarely more than 6.00%.

Best scenario: down 200 on the open for NAZ. Buying spree!

Looking at more JDSU, and maybe even some LU.

I want blood in the streets! Oh, but wait. According to some, I'm in for a margin call of my own...

sold my remaining shares in DELL at the open, I sold the 2/3 of what I had left on monday they were a fraction of the original amount I once own that were three years old. When a stock doesn't recover after a very large sell-off like we just had, I tend to sell them.

I was sorry to see them leave my account, my DELL gain pretty much has paid for the rest of my life, so I owe a lot to Mikey and the rest of the DELL employees.

THANKS!

Greg--> Delless for the first time in three years :(
